The author [Rolf Gohs] clearly included his own views in the comic [Mystiska 2:an], but since it was the seventies, those views corresponded to the general atmosphere of society. In one scene, Stefan is hugged by Sacho and exclaims: "Sacho! What the f... I'm no chick, okay!" To which Sacho replies: "You are my best friend and that means a lot! Everyone should love each other and there would be an end to was and stuff!" [...]

Mystiska 2:an had a break for three years before its final comeback in 1985. The story Fägelön (Bird Island) was published in the third issue of Comet, a magazine with adult comics. The boys are now 14 years old and in the process of discovering their sexuality. But whereas Stefan hooks up with a girl his age, Sacho's desires are more controversial. He falls in love with a man, and the man is twice his age. The panel where Sacho and the man kiss created a comic scandal not seen since the 1950s. [...] As a result of the scandal, Gomet was discontinued and Mystiska 2:an hasn't seen the light of day ever since. Yet it remains a unique comic that deserves to be discovered by new generations of fans.
