A former teacher who Googled pictures of naked young girls on the internet was today sentenced to a four-month suspended prison term. Louis Herbert Jezard, 59, a Brisbane southside-based floor coverings divisional manager, pleaded guilty in Brisbane District Court to using a carriage service to access child porn between August 22, 2005, and September last year. Jezard typed in the terms, "Lolita", "nude virgins" and "ped" into the Google search engine, and had 26 pictures of naked pre-pubescent girls saved to a temporary folder, the court was told.

Judge Tony Skoien said Jezard, who was arrested in May last year after a tip-off, told police he was a teacher, and had been researching pedophilia on the internet. "He said he thought there were fewer male teachers these days because of the fear of paedophilia and he searched the internet to define the term and he was looking for evidence that males had sexual relationships with children and didn't find any," Judge Skoien said, reading from the police record of interview.
