Man brutally murdered and dumped in wheelie bin after being wrongly accused of sex offences

A man with learning difficulties was murdered after being wrongly accused of being a sex offender on Facebook. Craig Eade had become a target in his community after the unfounded rumours were posted online, and had already been left hospitalised by an earlier attack. He repeatedly denied the claims.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that killer Paul Watkins, 36, lured the vulnerable 23-year-old to his home in Gateshead in February. [...] Watkins left his victim’s remains in his flat for more than a day before dumping his body in a wheelie bin.
