Pedophile relations are neither that different in terms of mutual understanding and love to deserve this demonization

"Since the 1980s, the main reason for demonization of pedophilia involves the anxiety surrounding the sexual abuse of daughters and girls and the concomitant stress that sexual relations should be equal, certainly in terms of age. This concern has gone from girls to both boys and girls, and the pedophile scare has become concentrated on stranger-danger and men having sex with male adolescents - heterosexual cases being treated as a lesser concern. It is not unlikely that this continuing fear of man-boy-relations is a modern version of the traditional idea that gay men have to recruit youngsters. The gay movement has little defense against this believe. In fact, it neglects or denies it by creating a separation between the pedophile and the homosexual, submitting to majority opinion that adult-minor-relations (disregarding respective ages and genders or cases of mutual approval) are always non-consensual and abusive. This assumption has never been proved and is highly irrational. There have been major scandals such as with Catholic clergy, Dutroux and Saville [Savile *] and they raise many questions - whether the inculpated where pedophiles or rather abusers who used institutional or physical power, and concerning changes of sexual consent for youngsters and how these can be raised by knowledge and education. Obviously, straight society uses the pedophile scare to keep gay men and other adults away from youngsters that have become more or less private property of parents. The gay movements is far from bridging this gap by creating broader options for adoption and more initiatives across generations, or by a critique of the family and its possessiveness regarding children. Furedi (2013) has pointed out how the pedophile scare thwarts relations between adults and minors and creates social distrust. It hinders cultural transference between (LGBT) generations. The problem with adult-minor-relations is rather the use of power or violence by perpetrators or the lack of sexual self-determination of minors than the sexual act. Pedophile relations may face more complications than other sexual ones, certainly in the present era, but they are neither that different in terms of mutual understanding and love to deserve this demonization."
