Sacramento member arrested

On November 21, NAMBLA member Dave S. [edit] was arrested along with four other men and charged with child molestation. Newspaper reports indicate that the so-called children, one as old as 17, were consenting participants and are uncooperative witnesses.

However, the charges filed against Dave are simply a harassment technique. Dave is not "guilty" of any of the charges; a fact known by the Sacramento police. Charges were filed against him because the police consider him a "ring-leader" in NAMBLA. By filing charges and arresting Dave the police had an excuse of finding evidence to justify filing real charges; however, none was found. As a result all the charges were dropped. However, the police have told Dave and the news media that they intend to do everything they can to come up with more charges. On the pretense that the investigation is continuing, they have also kept Dave's personal belongings that were confiscated in the search.

The news media and the police working in cooperation have given widespread publicity to Dave's arrest. KPIX loudly and prominently reported Dave's arrest but to this day has refused to inform its audience of his release and the dismissal of all charges. The news coverage, along with police pressure, has resulted in Dave losing his job.

After spending five days in jail without a lawyer, Dave was finally released. He has since obtained a lawyer. To get his personal property back he will have to go to court. And he fully expects that another arrest may take place any day. Dave's legal fees are mounting daily and now he has no income due to the loss of his job. The reason for all this harassment is his support of NAMBLA.
