Teen Vogue criticized for controversial anal sex guide aimed at adolescents

An article published online by Teen Vogue has prompted calls for the magazine to be pulled from store shelves. The how-to guide, titled 'Anal Sex: What You Need to Know', was posted to the magazine's website on July 7 but criticism of the article intended for a youth audience has been gaining momentum. Author Gigi Engle is a self-described writer, sex educator, speaker and feminist activist and describes the post as "anal 101, for teens, beginners, and all inquisitive folk." The guide tells readers that while anal sex is "often stigmatized" it is a "perfectly natural way to engage in sexual activity." And while it does come with a warning that anal sex is "not enjoyed by everyone" and to only do what you're comfortable with, its content has been deemed offensive by some. [...]

One blogger who goes by the name The Activist Mommy has launched a campaign to #PullTeenVogue. Her Facebook post calling for the boycott currently has over 11 million views.
