Fernando Ramos da Silva, the 19-year-old Brazilian actor who won critical acclaim at the age of 12 for his starring role in Hector Babenco's film "Pixote" was murdered by police in Sao Paulo on Tuesday, August 25. [...] A resident of the tenement house told television reporters that she heard Fernando pleading with police, "Don't kill me. I have a daughter to raise." She also confirmed that he was not armed. A forensic report found Fernando's body contained 8 bullet wounds, six in the chest. It was also found that he was shot from above, while lying on the ground.
