A huge majority of MPs has voted in favour of cutting the homosexual age of consent to 16. Gay rights campaigners cheered from the Commons Gallery as the 207-vote majority - 336 to 129 - was announced. The amendment to the Crime and Disorder Bill introduced by Labour MP Ann Keen brings homosexuals in line with heterosexuals on the consent issue. The Church had opposed the change, saying it sent out the wrong signals.
