Perverts are mobilising to lower the age of consent to 12, a Sun investigation can reveal. They are forging links with a political party set up by Dutch paedophiles. The Sun spent two weeks monitoring a UK-based discussion website in which sickos exchanged hundreds of emails. It is run by shamed ex-teacher Nigel Oldfield, 45, and businessman David Stanley, 44.

Oldfield swapped emails with Dutch paedophile party NVD, which wants the age of consent to be 12 - and eventually axed. In one, NVD secretary Norbert de Jonge says: "Polls show there's enough support for us to get one or even several seats in the Dutch parliament in 2007." Oldfield, of Doncaster, South Yorks, was jailed for downloading 11,000 images of kids. Stanley of Bridgend, South Wales, was arrested over web child porn but was not charged.

Last night Sara Payne, mother of murdered Sarah, eight, said: "People should be worried about these sites. There is no law that would stop paedophiles progressing to setting up a political party." The Government's anti-paedophile unit said it was aware of the site. But a spokesman said: "At the moment they are not breaking the law as no obscene pictures of children have been posted."
