According to news reports just recently appearing in the North American gay press, New York social worker Joyce Hunter was attacked for anti-man/boy love remarks in July, 1990, at the seventh World Conference of the International Lesbian and Gay Youth Organization (ILGYO) in Zürich, Switzerland. [...]
The keynote speaker was Joyce Hunter, director of the Hetrick Martin Institute for Protection of Lesbian and Gay Youth. According to a report in the April, 1991, issue of Rites, the Canadian lesbian and gay monthly, "Controversy erupted during Hunter's speech when she made remarks against boy-lovers. Many of the lesbian and gay youths in attendance expressed strong disagreement with Ms. Hunter's remarks, stating their firm position in support of consensual intergenerational sexuality and relationships."
